2018-2019 Bus Routes

posted Jun 28, 2018, 8:36 AM by Monticello Montessori   [ updated Jun 28, 2018, 10:46 AM ]

Our bus routes for school year 2018-2019 have been posted on our Transportation page.  Route #1 we have added a stop on the corner of Tiebreaker and John Adams.  The rest of the stops have stayed the same.  On Route  #2 all stops have remained the same.  And on Route #3 we have made a safety change, and have deleted our South BLVD stop. To accommodate the student that used that stop we are adding stops on both the West and East side of South BLVD. The West side stop will be at 198 W 21st Street and the East side stop will be at the 20th Street Park. (On the 20th street side.) PLEASE call the school and let me know which of these new stops you will be using. The pick up and drop off times have been adjusted to accommodate our earlier start time. But they are still approximate and will be updated in August when our bus contractor lets me know their times. As always, please arrive at the bus stop at least 5 minutes early.

If your student rode the bus last year and will be riding on the same stop, we will keep their names on our rolls and you do not have to call, but you still need to sign a permission to walk slip, if they will be walking from the bus stop.  However, if your student is changing stops or has never ridden our bus and you would like to add them, then PLEASE call the school (208-419-0742) and speak to Cheri Parker so their seat can be reserved on the bus.  Seating on some buses are limited!

If your student will be walking home from the bus stop, you will need to sign a permission to walk slip before the driver will allow them to get off, if you are not waiting at the stop. For safety reasons, K-3 grade are not allowed to walk unless they have an older sibling that will be walking with them. The permission slips need to be signed every year!

MIDDLE SCHOOL

posted May 8, 2018, 9:44 AM by Monticello Montessori

MIDDLE SCHOOL? Are you interested in high-quality true project-based learning for your middle schooler next year? Does your child love learning in a real world context? Do you want her to read and discuss classic literature, explore and propose solutions to real world problems, develop strong reasoning and math skills and have real life experiences as part of assigned work? Monticello is proposing a small middle school expansion to the Charter Commission in a few days. They will consider our proposal for classics and experiential learning only if we have sufficient students to support the proposed program. If you are interested in intellectual challenge, authentic project management, reflection and collaboration for your child, please be sure to let us know immediately by submitting your child's name and age/grade for next year .. Please call the office and let us know right away!  Thank You!!
